Harimau Muda's Fadhli Shas, Irfan Fazail Join Darul Takzim

MALAYSIA. Johor Darul Takzim will be beefed up by two pillars of Harimau Muda with the signing of Mohd Fadhli Shas and Irfan Fazail on a two-year contract Sunday. 

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who is also Johor Football Association president, at the Larkin Stadium here.

"Both of them are from Johor and I'm excited because they want to come back to Johor to contribute to the state football," he told reporters here.

He said Mohd Fadhli and Irfan would be given the option to extend their contract for another two years.

 
Tunku Ismail said the duo would join Darul Takzim after their stint with the national squad in the SEA Games in December.


He said Darul Takzim would prepare for next season's in the middle of this month by having several friendly matches with foreign clubs, including those in Japan and China and possibly Boca Juniors of Argentina.


On the possibility of Darul Takzim signing another Harimau Muda player from Johor, Mohd Fandi Othman, Tunku Ismail said negotiations were still being conducted and the player would likely join Darul Takzim at the end of next year.


Meanwhile, Irfan, who is Harimau Muda captain, thanked Tunku Mahkota of Johor for helping realized his desire to serve Johor and he would use his experience to help bring glory to Darul Takzim.


For Mohd Fadhli, he felt that he had made the right decision to play for Darul Takzim next season as the squad was on the rise.


Tunku Mahkota Johor said negotiations were being held to sign up Lions X11 captain Shahril Ishak for the Johor premier league squad next season.


"Negotiations are underway and we expect the result next week. Shahril has expressed his interest to play for Johor," he said, adding that Lions X11's Baihakki Khaizan would adorn Johor's jersey next season while team-mate Hariss Harun would join Darul Takzim.


On Safee Sali's future with Darul Takzim next season, Tunku Ismail said the matter was still being discussed, but Norshahrul Idlan Talaha and Safiq Rahim would be retained.


Among big names adorning Darul Takzim's jerseys next season are former Argentina's striker Pablo Aimar and former Athletico Madrid forward Braulio Nobrega Rodriguez.
