Archery: SEA Games Still Important, Says Olympian Khairul

MALAYSIA UPDATED. He may have featured in the Olympics, but the SEA Games are still an important event for archer Khairul Anuar Mohamad.

Khairul, who made his Olympic debut in London last year, will compete in his second SEA Games when he toes the line in Myanmar. He made his first debut in the Indonesia SEA Games two years ago.

“The SEA Games is still competitive to me even though I have participated at the highest level – the Olympics.

Strong Winds Poser for Archers at SEA Games

MALAYSIA UPDATED. Strong winds will pose a challenge to archers when the event begins at the Naypyitaw Archery Centre.
 
Singapore’s coach Beow Leng Sng said that all the archers here are having problems to hit the bullseye because of the unpredictable wind conditions.

“It is not only very windy in Naypyitaw but the direction of the wind also keeps changing. If the wind is in one direction the archers can get used to it. But when the wind conditions change direction it will pose a challenge to archers to get desirable scores,” said Leng Sng.

Myanmar Selects Archers for SEA Games

MYANMAR UPDATED. Myanmar have selected 16 finalists for the 27th Southeast Asian Games to be hosted by Myanmar in December, according to Myanmar Archery Federation Wednesday.
 
In the compound event, the Myanmar team is composed with eight national players while 8 players for recurved team.
