Ticket buyers will be required to present their national ID card at sales centers to be able to purchase tickets and there is a two-ticket limit per customer. All centers will only sell tickets for matches that will take place in that particularcity.
The MFF recently released the price list for seats at SEA Games matches and has received many complaints that they are unreasonably high. However, U Sue Aung maintains that the price of a match ticket is substantially lower than that those of other entertainment events.
“The price of concert admission is at least 6,500 kyats, nearly double what we are asking,” he said. “If you think of a football match as an entertainment, it is the cheapest entertainment you can find. People think the prices of the tickets are high because they are probably comparing them to the prices of tickets for local games.”
A first-class seat at a SEA Games football match will cost a fan 4,000 kyats, and general admission seats start at 2,000 kyats. Tickets for a semi-final or final match begin at 3,000 kyats.
Matches commence on 7 December.
